Fatima Bhutto on Thursday criticized Sindh government on starting a campaign of culling stray dogs in Karachi by District Municipal Corporation (DMC).

Fatima Bhutto is the daughter of Pakistan Peoples Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) founder Mir Murtaza Bhutto.

She said in a tweet that, “In the middle of a pandemic, where hundreds of thousands of migrant and daily wage workers will starve and prisons would have a wildfire of virus cases, and the poor have no access to medical care, why was the Sindh Government using its energy and resources to kill dogs?”

In another tweet she said, “It is established that covid-19 is NOT spread by dogs. Incompetence ought to have limits but you can always count on the Sindh government to surprise you.”

It is pertinent to mention that she posted tweets after a non-profit charity organization, ACF tweeted on Thursday that the local government in Karachi has passed an order to start the culling of dogs again from Thursday and it directed vaccinating and culling.

ACF claimed that not a single DMC staff is trained in vaccination nor do they have the equipment or vaccines needed to actually carry that out.
