Raising objections to the petition, seeking a probe into the ‘threatening letter’ received by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Registrar Office of the Supreme Court (SC) on Saturday rejected it, saying it was non-maintainable, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The registrar said the petition did not pertain to basic human rights, and that it could not be heard under article 184/3 of the constitution.

Raising another objection, the registrar said that the petitioner had not approached the relevant forum.

The petition filed by Naeemul Hassan Advocate read that since according to the letter, which the prime minister had shown to a large public gathering in Islamabad on March 27, there was a ‘foreign hand’ behind the opposition’s no-trust motion, therefore the Supreme Court put on hold voting on the motion until and unless probe into the ‘foreign connection’ was not completed.

The petitioner also demanded the formation of a commission similar to the one formed to investigate the Memogate Scandal.

And since it was a sensitive issue and of extreme importance, the petition should be fixed for the hearing today, the petitioner prayed.
