Values must be valued!

Majority of the people around have become whining fools and always have complaints on the pretext of having a catharsis. They are forgetful of the blessings the Creator and the Sustainer has bestowed upon them. It goes without saying that we have become the slaves of narrow-mindedness, pessimism and selfishness. We are not willing to peep out to see the gleaming light of hope, selflessness, optimism, mission, vision and positivity. The only solution for our countrymen is to embrace the shining reality of honoring values which are absolutely invaluable to lead the life of thorough professionals and self-sufficient individuals. I truly believe that all the teachers, especially faculty members of universities should play their vital role to inspire and motivate the students to realize the significance of values. If university graduates are able to learn their lessons, our country will turn into a worth-living place. Our nation needs our positive, committed and serious efforts to bring it out of the marshy ditch of frustration and waywardness. The reason is that we either don’t have the will to respect our values or we close our eyes to the significance of them as it seems tough to offer sacrifice or efforts, because remaining in comfort zone seems the easiest option in this era of mind-boggling challenges and nerve-wracking situations. Valuing our values will enable us to stand tall and have the feelings of self-sufficiency.

As a matter of fact, we need to show firm belief in values and we are supposed to have these values very close to our heart. If we scratch our merit from our lives, then life becomes uncertain, meaningless, unsafe, full of frustrations and dejections, the way the masses are leading their lives in the current circumstances. The lawlessness, ever prevailing fear and absence of justice and security haunt us like phantoms and drag us to the state of schizophrenia. In the countries like our dear homeland, where there is no merit, you can’t expect the presence of justice. Rights are trampled upon and happiness and satisfaction seem like impossibilities. It’s high time that we should give the message to our youth at colleges and universities to be the torch bearers and have the courage to fight the unseen devilish powers to play their roles to save the sanctity of their motherland. Otherwise, our journey towards utter destruction and devastation will further be accelerated and we will become the nation of puppets strings will ever remain in the hands of powerful giants. Merit is an invaluable value and we can’t survive without ensuring it in letters and spirits.

Nations which close their eyes to the importance of integrity, become extinct within no time. Unfortunately, we are persistent in our journey towards that devastation and nothing is going our way. This is the value, our religion believes in. Islam teaches us to ensure honesty and high moral principles in every field of life, otherwise, none can save us from total loss, devastation and destruction. Honesty and high principles keep our hopes alive. The current decline of our nation is self-explanatory to the fact that we ignore the priceless value of integrity and results are absolutely deplorable. We won’t be able to regain the epitome of perfection our nation was synonymous of, because the rapid deprivation is so detrimental and has lured us to the state of callousness.

Furthermore, as the true followers of the perfect religion, we are expected to display exemplary tolerance, patience and forgiveness, but our queer transition has converted us into unforgiving, cruel and aggressive brutes. We have become so narrow-minded that we have the strange emotions that we are always right and have the birth right to blame others for the mistakes, shortcomings and flaws. We are always ready to find faults with others. We get flared up and in the heat of the moment, we cross all limits and utter such insulting and humiliating comments for others and care even a pin to hurt the feelings and emotions of our fellow beings. We have forgotten the fact that through tolerance we can bring peace, comfort and happiness in our lives.  As we have forgotten the importance of tolerance, so we have to pay through the nose and the deplorable fact is that we never realize our mistakes and stubbornly believe that we do the right thing by reacting volcanically.

We need wise and sensible mentors who should teach us the importance of the matchless values like excellence, commitment and social responsibility. If we have the objective of brining excellence in our lives, we won’t stop anywhere and will surely not be contented to something ordinary. We look for extraordinary achievements and play vital role to bring excellence in every walk of life. In this way, we very passionately perform our duties to make our country worth-living. Commitment is the kind of value that makes us responsible citizens and we can’t wait on our oars till we prove our determination, devotion and dedication to fulfill our commitments for the betterment and welfare of our country. In this way, the country will progresses by leaps and bounds and the world will acknowledge the worth of our dear motherland. Unfortunately we are concerned about our own benefits, but the real life is to dedicate our lives to social responsibility. Community service, gives us inner peace and satisfaction. The service of humanity becomes our wont and we leave no stone unturned to fill the vacant room on top. The world becomes heaven and we start living like brethren. If we commit ourselves to these values, we become remarkable human beings and play the role of a torch bearer for the excellence, commitment and community service.

I am a firm believer in the inner goodness of all our countrymen. Our conscience may sleep for a while, but it can never be dead. Our values are very close to our heart and play the role of guiding stars to take us to our destination of peace, comfort, progress, prosperity and justice. Our passionate pursuit of merit, integrity, tolerance, excellence, commitment and social responsibility make good citizens and we play pivotal role for the betterment of our motherland. Long live Pakistan!
