Polio cop martyred in Bannu

A police officer on security duty for polio workers was martyred in Bannu in a terrorist attack on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Terrorists opened fire and shot dead the security personnel named Zaman who was posted in Township Police Station in Bannu.
Police have started the search operation but no arrests have been made till the filing of this report.
The policeman was shot dead when he was outside a home while the female workers of the polio team were inside the house. Assailants chose the time to attack and opened fire on him. The policeman was shifted to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
It is pertinent to note that in 2019, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Imran was on polio duty near a Rural Health Centre in Domel when unidentified men opened fire at him also.
