SSGC seeks Rs58.42/MMBTU hike in gas price

The people of Sindh and Balochistan should also be getting ready for an astronomical increase in the rates of gas. As after the Sui Norther, the Sui Southern has also submitted a petition to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority seeking an increase in its prices, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The Sui Southern Gas Company has requested Rs58.42 per MMBTU hike in its rate. The Ogra will hear the SSGC petition on Dec 6 in Karachi. 

The petition sought an increase in the gas rate from July 1. It stated that the petition was filed keeping in view the current year’s revenue needs. This year, the revenue shortfall was estimated at Rs18.39 billion. 

The SSGC requested the Ogra to fix an average price of gas at Rs 838/MMBTU. 

The current price of gas is Rs779.88/MMBTU.
