The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched a fresh inquiry against senior PML-N leader and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi over illegal recruitments, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to the TV channel, the NAB has sent a 10-point questionnaire to the former prime minister seeking answers from him until January 10.
The questionnaire was basically about the appointment of Adnan Gilani as CEO of LNG Limited by Shahid Khaqan Abbasi when he was the prime minister.
The NAB was curious to know how he made the appointment despite reservations expressed by the PM Office and the Establishment Division.
However, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been in the United States on a 15-day visit. He left Pakistan for the US on Sunday last.
The former prime minister was allowed to go abroad to inquire about the health of his ailing sister and brother-in-law.
Earlier, the federal government had removed his name from the Exit Control List (ECL) after he submitted an application for a US visit.
