A student was shot dead by the personnel of anti-terror squad in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Four anti-terror squad personnel including a sub-inspector involved in the incident were arrested.

According to details, the anti-terror personnel opened fire on a suspicious car in Sector G10 of Islamabad, which resulted in the death of 21-year-old student, Osama Satti.

There was a possibility that a murder case would be filed against these personnel as their interrogation by the seniors continued.

According to the post-mortem report, Osama Satti received six bullets which led to his death. All the bullets hit him on the back – one bullet hit him on the head, another on an arm while four bullets pierced his back.

The inquiry against anti-terror squad came after Inspector General Islamabad Amir Zulfiqar took notice of the incident and directed the SP ATS to thoroughly investigate the incident.

According to the police, they received a call last night claiming that dacoits riding a car were trying to commit a dacoity in Shamas Colony. The police rushed to the area and spotted the car with tinted glasses and signalled it to stop.

The driver ignored their signal, said the police and added, the police party was then involved in a hot chase of the car until they reached Sector G10 where the policemen opened fire on the car tyres.

But unfortunately, some bullets hit the student who died.

Father’s appeal

Reacting to his son’s murder, Nadeem Satti said Osama was not involved in any criminal activities. “He has exchanged hot words with the policemen He was killed at 2:30pm,” he added.

Nadeem Satti appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan, the interior minister and the Islamabad administration to provide his justice.

He said the Ramna Police Station SHO, DSP and SP had admitted that the policemen had committed a blunder.

Nadeem Satti said about 17 bullets were fired on his son’s car. “Register a murder case against the policemen under anti-terrorism law,” he demanded.

Highway blocked

The family and relatives of Osama Satti later staged a protest on Srinagar Highway and blocked the road which led to suspension of the traffic.
