The US dollar came under fire on Thursday as it lost Rs1.45 against Pakistani rupee in the early inter-bank trading and at the closing time it reached at Rs 166.88 losing Rs1.17, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

At the closing time, the US dollar reached at Rs 166.88 from Rs168.05, Forex traders said.

The American currency which was closed at Rs168.05 on Wednesday plunged to Rs166.60 on Thursday morning.

Forex traders say the US dollar first decreased by 55 paisas against the Pakistani currency and then the rupee took a big jump against the American currency.
