Mask mandate returns as corona cases resurface in Sindh

The Sindh government has sprung into action against Covid-19 resurgence, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported Friday.

The home department issued directives to adopt protective measures to stem the spread of the deadly virus under the Sindh Epidemic Diseases Act 2014, making mask-wearing mandatory.

The Education Department and the Sindh Secretariat have also issued instructions to all persons to wear masks and followed the protective measures 

Presiding over a special meeting, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah made an appeal to the people for following SOPs to save precious  lives.

Key government figures include Nasir Shah, Sharjeel Memon, Murtaza Wahab, Qasim Soomro, Chief Secretary Sohail Rajput and IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon. 

The covid case ratio in the country reached a 4.5-month high at 3.93% in the last 24 hours, according to the National Institute of Health, Islamabad (NIH). This is the highest positivity ratio since February 19, when it was recorded at 4.15%.

According to the latest data from NIH, during the last 24 hours, 694 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in the country after diagnostic testing on 17,640 samples. As per NIH statistics, currently, 101 patients are being treated in different medical facilities across the country.

However, fortunately, no death was reported during the last 24 hours across the country due to the virus.
