Punjab Minister for Energy recovers from coronavirus

Punjab Minister for Energy Dr Akhtar Malik has recovered from the novel coronavirus on Tuesday.

Malik was tested positive for the coronavirus on May 23 and as per health protocols; he isolated himself from all public engagements, a spokesperson of Punjab health department said to 24NewsHD.

In his tweet, Dr Akhtar Malik said his battle against the coronavirus is now over and he stands recovered now.

It is to be mentioned here that a number of politicians in government and opposition have contracted coronavirus disease and some of them have fully recovered and many are finishing their isolation phase and getting better.

Police official dies of virus

Moreover a Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Civil Lines official passed away due to coronavirus that has raised the death toll of police personnel to four.

The CIA superintendent of police (SP) confirmed the news saying the victim had been unwell for the past few days. SP CIA further said that police has been on active on field since the Corona outbreak.

Three of the coronavirus victims belonged to Lahore while one hailed from Islamabad.

Since Eid ul Fitr, Corona situation has intensified all over Pakistan especially in Lahore as today SSP Operations Faisal Shehzad also tested positive along with Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute, Lahore General Hospital also contracted the coronavirus.

According to the latest numbers, Pakistan has experienced its worst day in terms of the reported coronavirus cases after another 3,938 people tested positive for the virus during the past 24 hours.

With the addition of these latest cases, the overall number of the coronavirus-infected people in the country has now climbed to 76,398.

According to the figures released by National Command and Operation Centre, the country recorded another 78 deaths during the same period, increasing the death toll to 1,621.
