Profit rates on national saving certificates rise

The Finance Ministry on Thursday notified meager increase in profit rates on national saving certificates, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

As per the notification, the profit margin on regular income certificates has been increased from 12 percent to 12.36 percent.

The profit margin on saving certificates has been increased from 10.75 percent to 12.25 percent. 

However, the 12.40 percent profit on the defence saving certificates remained unchanged. 

The profit margin on the pensioners, martyrs, and welfare certificates have also not been changed which stayed at 14.16 percent. 

The finance ministry has notified the nominal increase on long-term national saving certificates.

Earlier, the Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) on Monday increased profit rates on all national savings schemes amid higher policy rate of the central bank’s and recent surge in cut-off yields of secondary market coupons.
