Iran Air Force Commander calls on COAS Bajwa

Commander Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force Brigadier General Pilot Hamid Vahedi Wednesday called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ, said a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the military’s media wing ISPR, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and bilateral cooperation between the two countries were discussed during the meeting.

COAS said that Pakistan wants peaceful and close ties with its neighbours. He further stressed on the need for collective efforts towards regional stability. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in the defence & security fields.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and vowed to enhance cooperation in various fields.

He also appreciated Pakistan’s role in the Afghan situation and effective border management measures.
