TV personality Aamir Liaquat Hussain has made an insensitive comment about the death of popular Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan.

During a television programme, Liaquat, while speaking to Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui, commented on the Indian actor’s death in a way that made Siddiqui uncomfortable.

Highlighting the career of the Pakistani actor, he said, “You worked in Mom and Sri Devi died, you worked with Irrfan Khan as well and he passed away.”

“You were offered roles in Mardaani 2 and Jism 2 but you declined, so the actors of that movie owe their life to you,” he continued.

Siddiqui, who was taken aback by Liaquat’s comment merely said that it was not something to joke about.

Adnan Siddiqui taking to Instagram then penned a lengthy note about insensitive comment made by Aamir Liaquat.

He said: “So I don’t know how to explain what I’m feeling right now or what to say. But this needs to go out. I was invited at the live chat show ‘Jeewey Pakistan’ yesterday when this unfortunate incident happened.

He continued, “The anchor Amir Liaquat joked about something extremely sensitive. Not only were they both close to me but as a human it was wrong on so many levels. I cannot even call it ‘hitting below the belt’.

Adnan further adds, “It was extremely callous act to joke about the deceased. This is in very bad taste, not only does it show him and me but also the entire country in bad light.”

The ‘Mere Pass Tum Ho’ actor concluded the note saying: “I want to apologise to the families of Sridevi Sahaba and Irrfan Khan Sahab, their loved ones and fans. If you see my body language I was extremely uncomfortable with what he said but I didn’t want to stop at that level. I regret being on the show. I’ve learnt my lesson and I promise I will not tolerate such act in future. I was hoping this bit wouldn’t become public but unfortunately it has. I’m sorry. Thank You.”
