Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid and PML-N Punjab president Rana Sanaullah exchanged barbs over the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issue after the former said the anti-graft body would become a Tarzan after Ramazan and Shehbaz Sharif was going to be in trouble.

But Rana Sana, in his reaction, said the NAB-Niazi nexus was trying to send Shehbaz to prison by using government machinery and they were not worried about the coronavirus. The political orphans must pay attention to the pandemic and the people, he remarked.

It all started with a press conference in Lahore, where Rashid said there won’t be any changes in the law pertaining to NAB. “I can’t see any changes in near future,” he remarked.

The amendments demanded by the PML-N would be a joke, Rashid said. His sources suggest that Shehbaz Sharif would be in trouble after Ramazan, he added.

The federal minister, who is famous for making predictions and claims, said Prime Minister Imran Khan deserved credit for making public the inquiries into the sugar and flour scams as well as the IPPs.

It prompted a response by Rana Sana who, in a press release, said only Rashid-like political jackals could consider the NAB-Niazi nexus as a Tarzan.

The people of Pakistan are Shehbaz’s real power and he isn’t afraid of anyone except Almighty Allah, the senior PML-N leader said.

He accused Sheikh of issuing statements at the behest of NAB chairman and said Shehbaz had returned to the country to save the people from the corrupt, liars, incompetent, incapable, flour/sugar thieves.

Rana Sana remarked that the remains of Musharraf should not try to frighten Shehbaz by jail and asked Rashid to explain the death of 100 passengers during his term as railways minister.
