ATC extends remand of Motorway gang-rape main accused Abid Malhi

Special Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Arshad Hussain Bhatta Monday granted remand of main accused in Lahore-Sialkot Motorway gang-rape case Abid Malhi to police for 15 days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The ATC judge heard the case in Lahore where the main accused was presented after the identity parade, the TV channel reported.

The police have presented the prime accused of infamous Motorway gang rape incident amid tight security. The rape incident drew widespread condemnation from all walks of life urging the government for harsher penalties to control such incidents in future.

Police arrested Malhi from Manga Mandi on October 13 however according to the suspect's father Abid surrendered himself to the Police on October 14 after his father convinced him to do so.
