While lamenting the government’s practice to introduce laws by promulgating ordinances, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that it is the job of the assemblies to do legislation but unfortunately the laws which the parliament passes are being condoned, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Sindh chief minister was addressing a two-day conference arranged by the Sustainable Social Development Organization in a local hotel in Karachi on Tuesday. PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri also addressed the audience.

Sindh CM Shah said that development could not be possible without peace. “Everybody has made sacrifices for establishing peace in the city,” he added.

He lashed out at the government for promulgating laws through presidential ordinances and for not bringing the bills to the parliament for proper legislation.

“It is lamentable that laws which the assemblies make, the government bulldoze them,” CM Shah said.

He also complained to PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal protesting that during his party’s stint in power, it had promised to give development funds to Sindh which the province was yet to receive.

Addressing the conference, Mr Iqbal said no country could make progress without establishing peace and justice.

“We should work together in the best interest of the country and should transcend the boundaries of religious and political intolerance,” the PML-N leader added.

On this occasion, National Assembly Speaker Qasim Suri said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was striving hard for the sustainable development goals.

The 2-day conference being organized at the Move and Pick Hotel, the Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial assemblies’ members are participating.
