Woman drowned while taking selfie at canal in Okara

A woman drowned in canal Lower Bari Doab while taking a selfie, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to details, husband and wife were taking selfies by the canal when her feet slipped and she fell into the canal.

According to rescue sources, her husband also jumped into the canal to save her. Her husband was rescued while the woman drowned in deep water.

Nadeem Zafar and Kunza Nadeem, a resident of 39 Thari area, were taking selfies in Lower Bari Doab.

Zafar also jumped into the canal to save his wife, but he could not save her. First aid is being given to the survivor.

A search operation was launched with the help of a boat and a plunger to search for the drowned woman, rescue sources said.
