PML-N expresses distrust in electronic voting machines

The PML-N delegation met with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) on Thursday and later talking to media persons, the delegation accused the government of using government machinery in the cantonment board local body elections while also expressing distrust in the electronic voting machine, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal, Saad Rafique, Ata Tarar, Maryam Aurangzeb, and Malik Abrar called on Chief Election Commissioner in Islamabad and apprised him of their concerns.

Talking to the media, PMLN leader Khawaja Saad Rafique alleged that the government on the directive of the Prime Minister the government wants to steal the cantonment board elections. “They are influencing the elections by intimidating the officials. The government missionaries have turned their attention to the cantonment board,” he added.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the Election Commission should play its role on the issue of the electronic voting machines. The opposition has concerns on the basis of the electronic voting machines.

PML-N leaders said that the issue of the use of government machinery is very serious and the EC should take notice of it and the nation should be told that there was an attempt to steal in the Daska election.
