Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has taken a swipe at the ruling Pakistan Tehrik-i-Pakistan for, what he called, reinforcing its own wings through ‘Tiger Force’ deployed for distribution of relief package to lockdown-hit people.

“The needy are still in a desperate need. The people who are registered with the PTI are bestowed with its so called relief package,” the JI chief said. He claimed the government team has not reached the poor, saying: “Lockdown-hit people like day workers, housemaid, home servants, vendors, poor villagers are waiting for help from the government.”

He condemned the ‘poor arrangements’ for evacuation the expatriates, saying: “The government should returned the evacuation charges to oversees Pakistani. They sent a heft y amount as remittances to Pakistan annually, but the government hurt them in the time of need. It is regrettable.”

He counted his party’s relief feats saying: “The JI spent more than Rs1billion for distribution of ration and safety kits.” Siraj said the JI volunteers are providing the poor with Ramazan packages on the doorstep.

He called for observing Friday as ‘Cleanliness Day’ and seeking forgiveness from the Almighty at the night. “Ramazan is around the corner but economic activities still grind to a halt. The government has failed to get over the crisis emerged in the wake of coronavirus spread.”
