Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and sent New Zealand in to bat in the fourth Twenty20 international in Rawalpindi on Thursday.
Pakistan, leading the series 2-1, made only one change, with fast bowler Zaman Khan back at the expense of Naseem Shah.
New Zealand had to leave out pacers Ben Lister and James Neesham, who had minor niggles, and brought in Cole McConchie and Henry Shipley.
Pakistan won the first two games by 88 and 38 runs, while New Zealand won the third by four runs, all in Lahore.
The fifth and final match is also in Rawalpindi on April 24.
