A social media post by an Indian businessman highlighting the modest lifestyle of a wealthy founder has sparked widespread discussion online about the true meaning of wealth.

Vinod Chandil shared on the platform X that a close friend of his, despite owning assets worth around 1 billion rupees, continues to live a simple and unpretentious life.

According to Chandil, his friend frequently travels by auto-rickshaw in Mumbai, opts for shared rides or taxis where possible, and prefers staying in modest hotels.

He added that the businessman has not purchased a luxury car, choosing instead to maintain a low-profile lifestyle.

“The only real change is that he now has more free time and holidays,” Chandil wrote, underscoring that financial success had not altered his friend’s personal values.

The post gained traction as it challenged the common perception that increasing wealth leads to a more lavish lifestyle marked by expensive cars, large homes, and visible displays of affluence.

The discussion gained further momentum when another entrepreneur, Ravi Handa, weighed in by questioning how much wealth should influence one’s way of living.

Social media users widely praised the example, with many commenting that true wealth lies in freedom, peace of mind, and time, rather than material possessions.
