A tragic incident occurred in the Kandera area of Nowshera when the roof of a girls’ madrassa collapsed, trapping several young students beneath the debris.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, rescue teams rushed to the scene and immediately began relief operations to recover the trapped girls.
Around ten injured girls were pulled out from the rubble and shifted to Qazi Medical Complex for treatment.
As per the channel report, authorities fear that more students may be trapped under the collapsed structure.
According to the PDMA, 465 people have lost their lives, while 181 others sustained serious injuries in rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The deceased include 294 men, 41 women, and 30 children, while the injured consist of 144 men, 28 women, and 10 children.
The report further revealed that 782 houses were damaged across the province, with 433 partially damaged and 349 completely destroyed.
Among the worst-hit districts is Buner, where 225 deaths were reported. Other districts that witnessed widespread destruction include Swat, Bajaur, Mansehra, Shangla, Lower Dir, Battagram, and Swabi.
