Maaz Sadaqat's magnificent ton guided Pakistan Shaheen to beat the Adelaide Strikers by a huge margin of 107 runs in the fifth match of the Top-End T20 series at DXC Arena, Darwin, on Wednesday, 24NewshHD TV reported.
The Shaheens decided to bat first after winning the toss and posted a formidable total of 202 for six in 20 overs.
The salient feature of the innings was a remarkable 149-run opening stand between Maaz Sadaqat and Yasir Khan.
Sadaqat struck 104 runs from 59 deliveries, laced with 11 boundaries and two sixes, while Yasir contributed a fluent 51 runs with five fours and one six. Abdul Samad added 25 runs to further strengthen the innings.
Adelaide’s Harry Manenti claimed three wickets for 31 runs, including two off successive deliveries, though his side struggled to contain the Shaheens’ batting firepower.
In reply, the Strikers faltered and were dismissed for just 95 in 16.1 overs.
Mackenzie Harvey top-scored with 27 runs, but no other batter managed to make a significant contribution.
The Pakistani bowling attack was relentless, with Mubasir Khan leading the way by taking 3 wickets for 19 runs.
Mehran Mumtaz and Faisal Akram also contributed with two wickets apiece.
The Pakistan Shaheen will look to continue their winning form when they face Nepal in their sixth series match on Friday.
