Counter Terrorism Department and Dera Ismail Khan police have killed two terrorists of banned outfit and arrested three others in two different intelligence based operations who were involved in the target killing of Shia scholar as well as the murder of traders, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Addressing a press conference in DI Khan, District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada and SP CTD Iftikhar Ali Shah said that the police received information about the presence of suspicious armed motorcyclists in the vicinity of Gilani Town area within the limits of Cantt Police Station last night.
The City Circle Police, in a quick response, reached the spot under DSP City Muhammad Adnan to review the situation where armed motorcyclists started firing at the police mobiles.
The police also opened fire, resultantly the motorcyclists got injured who were shifted to the hospital for medical aid.
DPO said the robbers were wanted by the police in the murder of business leader Rana Aslam and his accomplice Javed who were killed in broad daylight in the city sometime ago. The further investigation was underway.
In another operation, CTD conducted intelligence based operation and killed two terrorists of outfit Lashkar-e-Jahangvi. The terrorists were identified as Rashid son of Alam Sher, resident of Chhajri, and Rafiuddin son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Lar Mahara.
A huge quantity of arms, ammunition, and hand grenades were recovered from their possession, including 1 Kalashnikov, 3 magazines, 55 cartridges of 7.62 bore, 02 hand grenades, 1 rocket launcher, 4 rocket shells of 7.04 caliber, and rocket boosters.
