The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced the closure of its regional office in Islamabad as part of a broader strategy to streamline operations and prioritize player development, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
Interim PHF President Mohiuddin Wani said that the federation’s foremost priority will now be the training and performance of players.
He said that available resources must be utilized more effectively to revive Pakistan’s standing in international hockey.
Wani stated that all attention would be centered on improving players’ performance, adding that funds would be directly allocated to training programs, talent development initiatives, and the enhancement of sports facilities rather than administrative expenses.
He further noted that if required, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) would provide office space to manage essential administrative affairs, ensuring that operational needs continue to be met without unnecessary financial burden.
