In a candid Instagram video that has gone viral, Pakistani model and social media personality Mahnoor Rahim recounted a troubling experience with a high profile television producer in 2023.
Speaking from a sunlit grassy field, Mahnoor described receiving a direct message (DM) at 3:00 AM while visiting her sister in Canada.
At the time, she was new to the modeling and entertainment industry and initially assumed the message was a legitimate professional inquiry, possibly related to a drama role or modeling assignment.
However, the conversation quickly took a personal turn when the producer reportedly said he “just wanted to chit-chat”.
Intrigued and suspicious, Mahnoor investigated his social media profile and discovered he was married, regularly posting photos with celebrities, including Mahira Khan and Hania Aamir.
When confronted about his marital status, the producer allegedly denied being married. Mahnoor then located his wife’s Instagram account and sent her screenshots of the conversation. According to Mahnoor, his wife thanked her but seemed she was already aware of his behaviour.
The model reflected on her decision to reject the opportunity to play along for fame, emphasizing that integrity was more important than quick career gains.
She warned young women in the industry to be cautious of men using professional connections to initiate inappropriate interactions, especially during odd hours like 3:00 AM.
After the reel was shared, many people from the industry as well as the public came forward with similar experiences involving the alleged predator.
Mahnoor Rahim didn’t just recount the alleged inappropriate behaviour of producer Umer Mukhtar, she also criticized Hania Aamir for her personal and professional ties to him.
Mahnoor pointed out that Hania, a UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador tasked with creating safe digital spaces for women, remained publicly close friends with the producer who, according to Mahnoor, had allegedly sent inappropriate messages to underage girls.
Mahnoor argued that this friendship presented a conflict of interest, saying it undermined Hania’s advocacy work. She described Hania’s ambassadorship as a “Scam” if the actress continues to associate with someone accused of exploiting young women in the industry.
To further highlight her concerns, Mahnoor shared that she had personally reached out to Hania via Instagram direct message, explaining the situation and giving her the benefit of the doubt.
However, Mahnoor said she received no reply from the actress.
In response, Hania Aamir clarified on Instagram that the circulating screenshots and fabricated conversations attributed to her were false.
She emphasized that she does not support inappropriate behaviour and urged followers to fact-check content before believing it, distancing herself from the ongoing controversy while maintaining her professional integrity.
