Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna were involved in a freak road accident on Monday evening after returning to Mumbai from a trip abroad. The incident took place while the couple were on their way home to Juhu from the airport.
According to sources, an auto-rickshaw, which had been hit from behind by a speeding Mercedes, rammed into Akshay Kumar’s security entourage vehicle. The impact caused the security car to collide with the actor’s SUV. The accident occurred near Silver Beach café in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
Eyewitnesses at the spot said there was momentary panic as the auto appeared to have been crushed between the vehicles. Residents and bystanders saw Akshay Kumar immediately step out of his SUV along with his staff to help those injured. The actor and his team reportedly lifted the auto and pulled out the driver and a passenger, who had been briefly trapped under the entourage vehicle, and brought them to safety.
An eyewitness shared, “It was scary to see the accident, but thankfully everyone is safe.”
Sources further revealed that Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was present nearby to attend an event, due to which several bystanders and media personnel were already in the vicinity, leading to instant commotion after the crash.

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna had just returned to Mumbai after travelling abroad to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
