Trials for the Khelta Punjab Pink Games, Lahore Division Women’s Mass Wrestling Team were successfully held at the Elite Training Center, Nishtar Park on Tuesday, under the auspices of the Lahore Division Mass Wrestling Association (LDMWA).
The trials were organized under the supervision of LDMWA President Aqeel Javed Butt.
A total of 25 female athletes from Lahore, Kasur, and Sheikhupura participated.
According to Sohail Javed Butt, Honorary Press Secretary of the Pakistan Mass Wrestling Federation, the trials were conducted with the support of the Punjab Sports Board and under the supervision of Tariq Khanzada, Divisional Sports Officer Lahore.
After a rigorous selection process, eight girls were selected to represent Lahore Division in the upcoming event.
The selected athletes are Sundas Tanveer, Khadija Saeed, Kashaf Altaf, Aliza Jawad, Ayesha Rashid, Fiza Qadir, Rahat Shams, and
Sidra Riaz.
Refereeing duties during the trials were performed by Abdullah Sohail Butt, silver medalist at the National Mass Wrestling Championship, Gujranwala, and Nayla Maqsood Butt.
Addressing the athletes, Tariq Khanzada congratulated the selected players, praised their performance, and encouraged them to continue training with dedication to bring pride to Lahore Division and Punjab in the upcoming competitions.
