The number of dacoits killed in Ronti Katcha area of Ubauro has reached four as the joint operation conducted by Sindh and Punjab Police and Rangers against the outlaws entered into its fourth day on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) have cordoned off the area and sealed the entry and exit points.
Meanwhile, another achievement for Kashmore Police as three most-wanted dacoits surrendered to the Force late Monday night.
Those who surrendered were involved in kidnappings for ransom, murder, extortion and other heinous crimes.
On Monday, 24News TV channel reported that as many as 11 dacoits of Lathani and Kakani gangs surrendered to the police in the katcha area of Sadiqabad on Sunday after the Force carried out intelligence-based operations in the area.
DPO Irfan Ali Samu said that the operations were being carried out with the help of drones.
Giving further details, the DPO said that two gangs of dacoits turned themselves into the police in Kacha Karachi and Kacha Rajwani areas.
He elaborated that the dacoits belonging to the Lathani and Kakani gangs surrendered at a police checkpoint Khair Muhammad Jhak.
“Those who surrendered were Allah Ditta, Shaukat, Farid Waheed and Moro of Kakani gang, and Murad alias Modi, Farooq, Akbar, Abdul Ghaffar, Irshad and Saen Dad from Lathani gangs,” he informed.
The official said that all these dacoits were involved in kidnappings for ransom, robberies and mugging.
On the other hand, police spokesman said that the dacoits had pledged that they would quit crimes and live and honourable life.
The DPO said that the police would continue its operations in the no-go areas of the katcha area.
On Saturday, 11 dacoits belonging to Imrani gang had turned themselves into the police in Rajanpur.
On the other hand, the operation by the police and Rangers in the katcha area of Ubauro entered its third day on Monday.
Police said that two wanted dacoits were killed in an exchange of fire with the forces.
Asghar Shar, on of the slain dacoits, was involved in the martyrdom of 12 personnel of the Punjab Police, the Force added.
The other dacoit was identified as Shanakht Bux.
Police informed that four dacoits including Wali Muhammad, Muhammad Isa and Qurban, also laid down their arms, while there were reports of five dacoits getting injured.
The Force went on to say that the targeted operation against the outlaws was underway in the katcha area as their hideouts, dens had been burnt.
In Jhang, dacoits opened fire at the CCD Jhang personnel while they were patrolling the area.
The personnel returned the fire, forcing the dacoits to flee, while one of their accomplices was killed.
The deceased was identified as Asif Odh, a resident of Sheikhupura, who was wanted by the police in connection with dozens of dacoities.
