Commenting on the imposition of heavy fines for violating traffic rules, former interior minister and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said on Tuesday that the country had become ‘Jurmanistan’ (a hub of crimes), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to reporters outside an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi where he had gone in connection with the hearing of May 9 cases, Sheikh Rashid asked the people to pray to the Almighty Allah that there should be no unemployment and inflation in the country so that a common man could also heave a sigh of relief and his life could be made easier.
The former minister said that one kilo of flour and sugar were being sold at Rs150, while the cost of burying the dead has also gone through the roof.
