Traffic wardens in Lahore have been stopped from registering cases on violations of traffic rules without permission of the deputy superintendent of police (DSP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to police sources, for registering cases, permission will have to be taken from the concerned DSP.
Before registering a case for violation, the concerned DSP should be informed.
In this regard, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Athar Waheed has informed the wardens of the City Traffic Police.
Cases are being registered by the traffic police for one-wheeling, one-way violation, driving without a license, commercial vehicles without fitness certificate and installing non-model number plates.
Earlier, cases were being registered against citizens by the traffic wardens.
