In a shocking and tragic incident, an 18-year-old female student of the Agriculture University Rawalpindi was murdered by her cousin in Jhang after she refused to marry him, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), the victim, identified as Kinza, was allegedly poisoned by her cousin who had developed romantic feelings for her. Kinza had turned down his marriage proposal, which reportedly enraged him.
The suspect later kidnapped Kinza within the jurisdiction of Satellite Town Police Station and forced her to consume poisoned food. At the time of the incident, Kinza was at her home in Jhang following the end of her university semester.
Police have registered a case of murder, arrested the accused, and launched an investigation into the incident. During the initial interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, stating that he killed Kinza because she rejected his proposal.
The horrifying crime has sparked outrage and calls for justice, especially given the victim's young age and educational aspirations.
