A major drop in LPG prices has been recorded in Karachi, where the cost per kilogram has fallen from Rs340 to Rs240, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the report, this significant relief comes after weeks of inflated prices due to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel. However, the situation has now stabilised globally, leading to a noticeable decline in rates.
Karachi citizens have termed the decrease in LPG prices a welcome development. Many said that although the relief may be temporary, it will definitely help lower everyday household expenses, which have been steadily rising.
The recent drop in prices follows a period of uncertainty in the international market, where instability in the Middle East caused fuel prices to spike. With signs of calm returning, energy prices—particularly for liquefied petroleum gas—have started to correct.
Speaking to media outlets, consumers stressed that while the price cut is a positive step, the core issue of gas load shedding must also be resolved. They emphasised that a sustainable solution to domestic gas shortages would reduce dependency on LPG during winter months and relieve citizens of high seasonal costs.
