PHC seals 721 clinics, 456 quacks banned amid province-wide operation

The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has launched a massive crackdown against quackery, sealing 721 illegal clinics and forcing 456 unqualified practitioners to cease operations across the province, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday. 

According to a PHC spokesperson, enforcement teams conducted raids on 2,815 healthcare facilities in recent operations, with 1,386 more under surveillance for potential violations.

PHC has conducted major actions across Punjab.

155 illegal clinics were shut down in Lahore, 48 centers sealed in Sialkot, 39 facilities closed in Narowal, 37 in Gujranwala, 34 in  Faisalabad, and 30 centers were taken down in Sheikhupura.

The PHC’s rigorous campaign has so far inspected over 222,500 healthcare centers across Punjab, resulting in the closure of approximately 62,000 illegal establishments.

The PHC spokesperson vowed to continue its enforcement drive, ensuring that only qualified professionals operate medical facilities.
