Two dacoits were killed by their colleagues' gunfire, and two others escaped during two encounters in Vehari, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
A spokesman of the Crime Control Department (CCD) said that one police encounter took place in Chak No. 97 WB, the jurisdiction of Thangi Police Station, and the other in Chak No. 505 EB.
The spokesman further said that the dead dacoits were involved in different criminal activities, including murder, dacoity, snatching, and extortion.
The dacoits were later identified as Akhtar Hussain, son of Mohammad Ramzan, resident of Chak No. 277 EB Burewala, and Mohammad Yousaf alias Kuba Kasai son of Nasir Hussain, resident of Habib Colony, Burewala.
The CCD spokesman said that efforts are underway to apprehend the dacoits who fled the scene.
He further said that the safety and security of the people is our top priority.
