Pacer Aamir Jamal says Shaheen Afridi is a role model for young bowlers

Right-arm pacer, Aamir Jamal, expressed his enthusiasm following his selection in the Pakistan Test squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

Talking to the media on Monday before starting up the camp of the national cricket team at Qadhafi Stadium, he conveyed his excitement about joining the Pakistan team.

He said that if he got a chance, he would try to perform well.

“I have always been positive and if I get a chance to play in Sri Lanka, I will take advantage of it,

Aamir Jamal said, adding that I want a performance that will benefit the team.

He remarked that he is eagerly looking forward to giving his utmost effort.

"I am thankful to Allah! I am extremely delighted to be in the Pakistan Test team for the Sri Lanka series,” he said.

"I always wanted to play test cricket. It was a dream always and to make it true it required continuous hard work, dedication, focus, and belief, he said.

Aamir Jamal recalled that now he is a part of the Test squad in which he came as a net bowler. He said that he is working hard to become a useful all-rounder for the national team.

“I have worked hard and trained according to the Sri Lankan conditions,” the pacer said.


Shaheen Afridi has proved better in all three formats and he is a role model for young bowlers, he concluded.
