The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has thwarted an attempt to travel abroad on fake and forged documents and offloaded four passengers at Multan International Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to details, the offloaded passengers were departing for Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
The passengers were later identified as Muniran Bibi, Mohammad Sajid, Hiba Ali, and Zara Batool.
The FIA team recovered suspicious visas of Ecuador from the mobile phones of Hiba Ali and Zara Batool.
During the initial investigation, it was revealed that the human smugglers directed them to keep the visas of Ecuador secret and only show the Azerbaijan visa.
The FIA team arrested Mohammad Sajjad, who was going to Saudi Arabia on a fake no-objection certificate (NoC) on leave. Passenger Mohammad Sajjad is working as Secretary of the Union Council in Mardan.
In another operation, FIA foiled a bid for travel to Bahrain and arrested Muniran Bibi. The female passenger failed to satisfy the relevant officials regarding the arrangement of her stay and financial matters.
Later, all these passengers were handed over to the anti-human trafficking cell (AHTC) Multan for further action.
FIA Director Multan Zone Ataur Rehman lauded the performance of the FIA team for foiling human smuggling attempts.
