The federal government has withdrawn fuel conservation and additional austerity measures with immediate effect following approval from the Prime Minister, 24NewsHD TV reported.

According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Friday, all fuel-saving and supplementary austerity restrictions imposed earlier have been abolished.

However, restrictions on market operating hours will remain in force across the country.

Under the existing schedule, shops, markets and shopping malls will continue to close at 9:00 pm.

Departmental stores and general stores will also be allowed to operate only until 9:00 pm.

The notification stated that marriage halls, marquees and commercial event venues must close by 10:00 pm, while restaurants, cafes and food outlets will remain subject to an 11:00 pm closing time.

Home delivery and takeaway services, however, will remain exempt from these restrictions.

Several essential services have been excluded from the operating-hour limitations, including fruit and vegetable markets, grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals, medical laboratories and clinics.

The exemption list also covers bakeries, tandoors, milk shops, petrol pumps and electric vehicle charging stations.

In addition, gyms, sports facilities, IT companies and call centres will be allowed to continue operations beyond the prescribed closing hours.
