Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has served a legal notice to religious scholar Nasir Madni.
In the notice, Momina demanded the immediate removal of content containing what she describes as false, defamatory, and damaging allegations against her.
The notice, sent through her legal counsel Advocate Adnan Ahsan Khan, alleges that certain statements made by Nasir Madni in a social media video amounted to character assassination and online harassment.
According to the document, the remarks have caused serious harm to Momina Iqbal’s personal and professional reputation, as well as her social standing and emotional well-being.
The legal notice specifically rejects allegations that the actress received financial assistance, gifts, mobile phones, or educational fee payments from another individual.
Her legal team has described these claims as fabricated, malicious, and entirely without factual basis.
Momina’s legal representatives argue that the dissemination of such allegations violates provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, the Defamation Ordinance 2002, and relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code.
As part of the legal demands, Nasir Madni has been asked to immediately remove all allegedly defamatory material from social media platforms and issue a public apology retracting the statements.
The notice further warns that failure to comply within the stipulated period could result in both civil and criminal legal proceedings.
