The measles outbreak in Kabirwala Tehsil of Khanewal District has claimed the lives of seven children, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The incident took place in Chak No. 2KM in Kabirwala. The names of dead children are Ali Zamin aged 9, Munzar Abbas, 3, Zehra Bibi 3, Afshan Bibi 4, Anaya Bibi 2 and Jamshed Ali 3.
The outbreak has sparked concern among residents, who have called for urgent action to deal with the outbreak.
They appealed to the Punjab government to dispatch a health team to the affected area on a priority basis.
The residents further appealed to adopt precautionary measures to control the disease on an emergency basis.
