District Vice Chairman Wadera Ghazi Khan Marri was arrested along with seven others on charges of allegedly stealing the Chief Minister Balochistan’s Ramadan ration package, according to sources.
Police said the accused were taken into custody after being caught red-handed while attempting to misappropriate the relief goods meant for distribution among the underprivileged during Ramadan.
Authorities also seized ration supplies loaded in two vehicles during the raid. Further investigation into the incident is underway, sources added.
The Ramadan package, initiated by the provincial government, is intended to support low-income families during the holy month.
