After detailed discussions over a couple of weeks with Dr Yasmeen Rashid and Health Department, the teachers will be vaccinated on a priority basis, Raas tweeted. “Our teachers are frontline workers that need our full support.”

Last month, the minister said the Punjab government was considering a proposal that all teachers would be administered vaccine against Covid-19 during the ongoing vaccination programme.
The authorities have directed the management of education institutions to enforce SOPs, the minister said. He told a private TV channel that 127,000 teachers were trained online about safety measures to fend off the deadly pandemic.
