Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday announced its support for the Jamaat-i-Islami’s (JI) candidate for the seat of Karachi mayor, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Announcing the party’s decision, PTI Secretary General Arsalan Taj alleged pre-poll rigging, and said that local bodies’ representatives were being kidnapped ahead of their oath-taking. “The PTI has already approached court over the issue,” he added.
He also stressed the need that elections for the seat of mayor should be free, fair and transparent.
