Eighth grade student of a government school dies due to heat exhaustion

A government school student in Bahawalnagar has died due to heat exhaustion.

According to the spokesperson of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, the incident took place at a government school in Haroonabad, Bahawalnagar, where a student died due to heat exhaustion.

The PDMA spokesperson said that the 13-year-old girl was an 8th-grade student.

The girl’s condition deteriorated due to the heat and humidity in the class.

According to the spokesperson, the girl was suffering from a heart condition and, due to a heart attack, the girl fainted in class. She was taken to the hospital for immediate medical attention, but unfortunately, she could not survive.

Earlier, observing the ongoing extreme heat and an intense heatwave across Punjab, the provincial government has officially announced summer holidays for all schools starting from May 28 and will end on August 14.

The School Education Department issued a notification regarding summer vacations starting from May 28 to August 14.
