Polio may shift to Punjab from other provinces, warns Uzma Kardar

Focal Person to Punjab Chief Minister, Uzma Kardar, has said that “Punjab has become polio free, but there is a chance that this virus may shift from other provinces,”, reported 24 News HD TV Channel on Wednesday.

Talking to media persons at the Deputy Commissioner's office, Uzma Kardar said that the polio campaign is running successfully in Rawalpindi. She appealed to the parents to extend their full cooperation to parents in administering the polio vaccine.

Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Abdul Rehman Khan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health Dr. Usman Ghani, and District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Hafiz Jawwad were also accompanied her.

Uzma Kardar said that polio teams are administering polio drops to the children at the doorstep of their parents.

She asked the polio teams to ensure that no child is left without administering polio vaccine.

Uzma Kardar lauded the media, personnel of the health department, district, and civil administration in extending support in the anti-polio drive.

Uzma Kardar said that Rawalpindi became an important location as a lot of people from other provinces lives here and Rawalpindi achieved 98 percent coverage.
