Sindh Inspector General Mushtaq Mahar, AIG (Special Branch) Imran Yaqoob Minhas have applied for 15 days and 60 days leave arguing Police command and all ranks of Sindh Police have been ridiculed, demoralized and shocked in a recent episode of registration of FIR against PML-N leader Capt Safdar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar, PSP Inspector General of Police, Sindh applied for 15 days leave, the TV channel reported.
Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) AIG Imran Yaqoob Minhas has applied for 60 days leave under the subject of a request for two months earned leave.
In a leave letter, he maintained: “In such a stressful situation it is quite difficult for me to discharge my duty in a professional manner.”
He said: “In order to come out of this shock and settle down I may kindly be granted 60 days earned leave w.e.f 26-10-2020.”
“It is respectfully submitted that in the recent episode of registration of FIR against Capt(R) Safdar in which Police high command has not only been ridiculed and mishandled, but all ranks of Sindh Police have been demoralized and shocked,” the leave letter reads.
The application comes a day after the arrest and bail of PML-N leader retired Captain Mohammad Safdar after the Pakistan Democratic Movement power show in Karachi’s Bagh-e-Jinnah.
The TV channel reported senior officers of Sindh Police have become frustrated after the arrest episode of the PML-N leader from a private hotel room.
Additional IG (Special Branch) Imran Yaqub Minhas applied for two months leave and several others including AIGs, DIGs and SSPs officers ready to go on leave and sent applications.
The top brass of the Sindh Police will also not appear before the Inquiry Commission comprising Sindh ministers to probe the matter, the TV channel reported.
