Pakistan’s evolving military and diplomatic strategy has significantly enhanced its global standing, according to an analytical report published by CNN.
The report noted that Pakistan’s effective government and military diplomacy have increased its importance in regional and international affairs, countering India’s attempts to isolate it on the world stage.
The report, authored by CNN analyst Fareed Zakaria, stated that “US President Trump has suddenly changed the course of US-India policy”, signaling a shift in Washington’s regional approach.
Once known for his close ties with the Indian leadership during his first term, Trump has now expressed open admiration for Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, describing him at an Egypt conference as his “favourite field marshal.”
CNN highlighted that Pakistan’s strategic relations with the United States have deepened, both militarily and economically. In July, the two countries signed a tariff agreement and announced joint cooperation on Pakistan’s oil reserves, marking a new phase in bilateral economic engagement.
The report further stated that Washington has come to view Pakistan as an effective and reliable military partner, a perception that has also influenced Saudi Arabia, which recently signed a defense cooperation agreement with Islamabad.
Analysts noted that India’s attempt to diplomatically isolate Pakistan, particularly after the Pahalgam false flag operation, has failed in the wake of Pakistan’s growing strategic influence and positive global engagements.
CNN concluded that Pakistan’s recent diplomatic and defense advancements have strengthened its global identity, elevating its role as a key regional player and reaffirming its importance in global geopolitical equations.
