The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Faisal Karim Kundi, met with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday and vowed to end Indian-backed terrorism in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to report, they reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to continue military and intelligence-based operations against the barbaric elements of "Fitna-e-Hindustan" (Indian-backed militancy).
During the meeting in Lahore, the two leaders held an in-depth discussion on the overall security situation in KP, recent terrorist incidents in the region, and ongoing operations across various districts against militant groups.
They also reviewed the current state of Pakistan-Afghanistan border dynamics and the operations aimed at establishing long-term peace in the province.
Tributes were paid to the security forces for their relentless efforts in tackling terrorism. The meeting also included discussions on the restoration of the damaged Police Training Centre and the NADRA office in Dera Ismail Khan.
Speaking at the occasion, Interior Minister Naqvi declared that the militants affiliated with Fitna-e-Hindustan are enemies of Pakistan’s unity and peace, and the operations to dismantle their networks will continue without pause. He stressed that Pakistan will not rest until these elements are eradicated from its soil.
Naqvi added that the federal government is providing comprehensive support to KP to improve law and order and combat terrorism effectively. He emphasised that the nefarious objectives of terrorists supported by India will never succeed.
The minister praised the people of KP and its law enforcement agencies for their courage in confronting terrorism. He reiterated that India-backed militants are working against Pakistan's cohesion and tranquillity and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the people of the region in the fight against terror.
On his part, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stated that peace is essential for the development and prosperity of KP. He emphasised that intelligence-based operations (IBOs) against terrorists are crucial to achieving this goal.
