Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Mussarat Jamshed Cheema has called for the immediate completion of the rehabilitation process for flood victims, emphasising that assistance should reach them before the onset of winter.
In a statement issued on Monday, Cheema urged the government to expedite surveys in flood-affected areas and ensure that farmers receive agricultural inputs free of cost to help revive the devastated rural economy.
She warned that international financial institutions have projected an economic slowdown for Pakistan due to the impact of recent floods, stressing the need for urgent government intervention.
“Along with agriculture, full attention must be paid to the restoration of destroyed infrastructure,” she added, noting that many schools have been damaged, disrupting children’s education.
Cheema reiterated that the rehabilitation of flood victims must be carried out on a war footing to alleviate suffering and rebuild livelihoods swiftly.
