All Pakistan Women Inter-University Qira’at & Naat Competition 2025 held at Fatima Jinnah Medical University

A prestigious ceremony for the annual “All Pakistan Women Inter-University Qira’at & Naat Competition 2025” was organized by the Shanawar Qira’at and Naat Society of Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU), Lahore.

The organizing committee was led by Ms. Amina Masood, President of the Naat Society, and Ms. Muhtassah, President of the Qira’at Society.

The ceremony was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal. Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir graced the event as Chief Guest.

Special guests included Parliamentary Secretary for Health Ms. Rushda Lodhi, Former  Punjab Health Minister Prof. Javed Akram, Founder of Women Chamber of Commerce Dr. Shehla Javed Akram, Former Vice Chancellors of FJMU: Prof. Shamsa Humayun, Prof. Shireen, Prof. Munazza Iqbal, and Prof. Noreen Akmal.

In his welcome speech, Vice Chancellor Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal extended a warm welcome and thanked the honorable guests. He appreciated Khawaja Imran Nazir as a dynamic Health Minister, following the vision of Honorable Chief Minister Punjab, doing remarkable work in the healthcare sector. He called Prof. Javed Akram a great teacher whose contributions in Medical Field are commendable. He further stated that organizing Shanawar events annually is a tradition of FJMU. He emphasized that along with academics, co-curricular activities are vital for mental and physical well-being, and urged all students to actively participate in the Shanawar Society’s activities.

Dr. Shehla Javed Akram expressed that significant efforts have been made at every level for women’s welfare, with the establishment of the Women Chamber of Commerce being a prime example. She encouraged women to move forward with confidence, assuring them that success will follow.

Ms. Rushda Lodhi highlighted the crucial role men play in empowering women now-a-days. She expressed admiration for the creative and positive activities taking place at the FJMU and stated that being part of an institution named after such a great personality is a matter of pride.

Prof. Javed Akram appreciated Vice Chancellor Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal as a talented and refined individual who has always fulfilled his responsibilities with dedication. His services as President CPSP are unprecedented. He also lauded the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) for its national and international contributions. He advised the students and faculty to serve ailing humanity that and gain Allah’s pleasure by offering free medical services in the name of Allah Almighty.

Mr. Khawaja Imran Nazir remarked that true success lies in following the path shown by Allah and Prophet (PBUH). He congratulated Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal for holding such a grand event while upholding Islamic values. He stressed that a true lover of the Prophet (PBUH) is one who follows his teachings. Speaking to the students, he said that respect your parents – you are now just because of your parents. Parents are the guardians of your dignity. Islam gives the highest respect and rights to females. The Holy Qur'an guides us in all matters. He appreciated FJMU for being a leader in academic and creative excellence, crediting the Vice Chancellor for this achievement. He further advised the students that you are the future of Pakistan, urging to contribute to the country's development and be responsible citizens. We must respect and appreciate the unprecedented contributions of Security Forces of Pakistan for beloved country. He emphasized that Pakistan will progress only when we all play our roles with honesty and merit. He declared FJMU as Pakistan's top medical institution.

At the end of the event, VC Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal presented honorary shields to the Chief Guest Khawaja Imran Nazir, Guests of Honor: Ms. Rushda Lodhi, Dr. Shehla Javed Akram, Prof. Shamsa Humayun, Prof. Shireen, Prof. Munazza Iqbal, and Prof. Noreen Akmal. Awards were also distributed among the winning students.

The event was attended by Principal Prof. Abdul Hameed, Registrar Prof. Muhammad Nadeem, Dean Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Prof. Alia Zahid, Prof. Naghmana, and a large number of faculty members and students.
